I went ahead and signed the petition tonight. I'm not sure my name and comment will last too long though, so I took a screenshot for posterity.
So Kathy Griffin said stuff that Christians didn't like, including "...suck it, Jesus." Who cares wtf Kathy says? S/he's a comedian/enne. (I'm still not sure on Kathy's gender.) Part of the humor of the remark is reflected from all the apparently moral-less and hypocritical people who thank jesus for their awards in these acceptance speeches, but this is obviously lost on the sheople who make such a big fuss.
I'd like to explore all the idiocy of this reaction from the fundy-mental-ists; there are great free speech issues here, as well as political, philosophical and sociological issues to discuss. But, when you get down to it - it's just fuckin' funny how these people react! Here are some names and comments if you'd like a taste:

6587. Get a grip You're embarrassing yourselves. Kathy Griffin wasn't talking to you....she was talking to the rest of us who see the comedy in you, and religion as a whole. She's a comedienne....she sees the humor in regular things....and religion just happens to be rife with humorous things that you'll never see. Case in point are the comments on this petition.....I've enjoyed quite a few good chuckles reading these. It doesn't take much genuine thought to see through religion, so it's funny to the rest of us to watch people chase shadows so blindly. If you don't like her, stop giving her so much attention.
Apparently #6587 seems to know what gender Kathy Griffin is.
What I find especially humorous is that the comments are rife with misspelled words and incorrect punctuation, but that's okay because they have faith... (Or is it Fate???)
People who tell Jesus to suck it are okay in my book. In fact You guys should all go suck it...screw all of you!... Nah, you guys are alright. Go team!
So sad. They deleted Jesús H Christo and his comment. Interestingly, it is still counted in the signature tally.
